What to Do in the Catskills This Weekend: Music, Mountains and Summer Fun

Free live music, gondola rides, a beach party, a small-town theater opening, and enough local color to fill three days without ever getting in the car for long. From Friday, July 31 through Sunday, August 2, the Central Catskills are running at full summer speed, and honestly, we can't remember a weekend with this much packed in. Friday Night: Music on the Belle
Start the weekend at Belleayre Mountain's Discovery Lodge for Music on the Belle, one of the best free events the Catskills run all summer. This Friday, The Saints bring rhythm and blues to the mountain from 6 to 9 PM, free admission, all ages, food trucks and mountain views included.
Get there early and ride the Catskill Thunder Gondola first. On Fridays it runs from noon until 7 PM, plenty of time to catch the view before the music starts.
Prefer dinner in town instead? Summer Fridays in Fleischmanns brings Main Street to life from 4 to 9 PM, or head to Delhi for Fair on the Square, live music, food trucks, and vendors on the town green.
Saturday: Beach, Markets and Small-Town Energy
Saturday opens at the Pakatakan Farmers Market in Halcottsville, fresh produce and local goods from 9 AM to 1 PM.
Then it's Belleayre Beach for the Season Passholder Beach Party, noon to 5 PM, DJ, giveaways, and a snowboard raffle for 2026-27 season pass holders. No pass, no problem, the beach itself is still a great summer stop for swimming and paddling.
For a proper small-town celebration, Andes Community Day runs all day with a parade, live entertainment, and evening fireworks, plus a scenic train ride on the Delaware & Ulster Railroad departing from Arkville.

A Little Theater to Close It Out
The Phoenicia Playhouse opens its summer production of Grease this Friday, July 31, running Fridays and Saturdays at 7 PM and Sundays at 2 PM through August 16. After a day of hiking and lake time, a night at the theater is a good change of pace.
Stay Close to All of It
