The Sound of November at Belleayre Mountain

Step outside and listen. Leaves crunch underfoot. A woodpecker works overtime. Bright blue sky peeks through the last gold and crimson leaves, and every breeze sends another handful drifting down.

Three Hikes Worth the Muddy Boots

1. Belleayre Mountain: right outside our door. With the leaves down, Belleayre reveals views you can’t see all summer. Same mountain, brand new scenery, zero admission fee.

2. Giant Ledge: big climb, bigger views. Some of the best panoramas in the Catskills, and every step of the climb earns them. Bring water, real boots and an extra layer, since November trails can be icy. Trail details

3. Ashokan Rail Trail: all view, no climb. A flat, easy path with reservoir and mountain views. Perfect for anyone whose idea of cardio is walking to the coffee shop. Explore the trail

Hiking Makes You Hungry. Good News.

Breakfast at Bettina, Phoenicia. Cozy café, freshly roasted coffee, and pancakes worth getting out of bed for.

Lunch at Phoenicia Diner. A Catskills classic serving diner comfort food made with local ingredients. Order the smoked trout and thank us later.

Dinner at Peekamoose Restaurant & Tap Room, Big Indian. Farm-to-table cooking with a menu that changes with the season. You hiked. You earned it.

Drinks at The Pines, Mount Tremper. A laid-back roadhouse with a creekside setting and plenty of mountain character.

Local tip: November means seasonal hours, so call ahead. Or skip the reservation, open a bottle of wine at the lodge, and call it a perfect night.

From Falling Leaves to Falling Snow ❄️

Something exciting is happening just up the road. Belleayre is gearing up for ski season, with opening day projected for around November 20, weather permitting.

One week, you’re shuffling through golden leaves. A few weeks later, you could be carving fresh corduroy.

Four seasons. Four completely different getaways. One lodge for all of them. (It’s right there in the name.)

Why Wait for the Weekend?

Here’s a little secret: midweek is the smartest getaway of the year. Quieter trails, easier tables, and the whole mountain to yourself.

Why squeeze your relaxation into Saturday when you could start unwinding on a Wednesday?

The leaves won’t wait. Neither will these quiet November mornings.
